ANCHO helps John Galt's Eco Committee.

-- John Galt Primary School's Eco Committee have been working hard over
the past few months on various projects to improve the environment in
and around the school. The Eco Committee is made up of pupils,
parents and local groups.
As part of their work to improve the environment the
committee wanted to make use of four planters in the school.
ANCHO's Estate Caretakers helped children and parents from the Eco
Committee to clear the weeds from the four planting beds.
 ANCHO
donated fifty pounds to help the committee buy plants and equipment to
re-plant the beds. The committee plan to plant flowers in the beds
this year and
both flowers and vegetables
next year.
Robin Ballantyne, ANCHO's Community Link Co-ordinator,
who is a member of John Galt's Eco Committee said 'The kids have done a
great job at getting the planters ready for the flowers and I'm sure it
won't be long until they are in full bloom.' |
